Irsko letos reprezentuje skupina Dervish s písní „They Can’t Stop The Spring“.

Šestičlená kapela Dervish z hrabství Sligo, se dala dohromady v roce 1989. Jedná se o folkovou skupinu spojující klasickou irskou hudbu s moderními prvky. Členy kapely jsou Brian McDonagh (mandola), Liam Kelly (flétna a píšťala), Tom Morrow (housle), Shane Mitchell (akordeón), Cathy Jordan (zpěv a bodhran – tradiční irský hudební nástroj) a Michael Holmes (bouzouki – tradiční řecký hudební nástroj). Dervish již mají na svém kontě devět alb. Jejich soutěžní píseň je inspirována událostmi Pražského jara v Československu roku 1968.

Anglicky zpívanou píseň kapela představí jako čtvrtá v pořadí ve finále Eurovize. Přímý postup do finále Irsku zařídilo loňské desáté místo zpěváka Briana Kennedyho se singlem „Every Song Is A Cry For Love“.
