Letošní reprezentantkou Kypru se stává Christina Metaxa se skladbou „Firefly“.

Christina je šestnáctiletá zpěvačka z Limassolu. Kromě zpěvu se věnuje i tanci, herectví a skládání hudby. V roce 2005 vyhrála ve své vlasti celonárodní soutěž autorských písní. Studuje na gymnáziu a letos plánuje vydat svoji vlastní knihu. Letos v březnu obdržela jednu z hlavních rolí v kyperské verzi muzikálu Mamma Mia. O skladbu „Firefly“ se postaral její o čtyři roky starší bratr Nikolas, který se zúčastnil řeckého X-Faktoru a také loňského národního finále Kypru, kde skončil na druhém místě.

Kypr soutěží ve druhém semifinále, které se koná 14.5.
